Eszter on “Express Moldova & Transnistria” Tour
We recently had the pleasure of hosting Eszter from Hungary on the “Express Moldova & Transnistria” Tour. This action-packed journey spanned four full days and was filled with unforgettable experiences.
Our adventure began with visits to the Marta si Maria Monastery and the Kitkani Monastery, setting a serene tone for the trip. In Benderi city, we explored the historic Benderi Fortress, complete with its intriguing torture room and the beautiful Nevskii Park. We spent the night in Dubossari, dining at a local restaurant that boasted a night swimming pool.
The next day, we drove to Ribnita city, where we visited the Saharna Monastery and braved the ice-cold waters of the spring streams on its grounds. Our journey then took us to the northernmost city of Transnistria, Kamenka, a quaint place with no restaurants or cafes. That evening, we stayed in Soroca, exploring the fascinating Gypsy Hill and cemetery. We learned about the history of Soroca Fortress and had a memorable meeting with an elderly lady at the only wooden Romanian church in Moldova.
Our exploration continued with a visit to the Tipova Monastery and its stunning 11th-century church. We then ventured to the Old Orhei cave monastery, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner accompanied by a breathtaking sunset. The same day, we toured the Milestii Mici winery, famous for having the longest wine cellars in Moldova, stretching over 200 kilometers.
At the start, we were a bit skeptical about the ambitious itinerary Eszter had in mind, but thanks to meticulous planning and arrangements, we made it all possible. We wish Eszter the best of luck as she continues her travels. Moldova was her 51st country visited, marking the completion of her European tour. And who knows, maybe Transnistria can be counted as her 52nd, though we’ll leave that up to political correctness!
“From the beginning of our conversation about the itinerary, I really felt that this tour would be special and unique on my bucket list. It exceeded all my expectations. Your travel experience, the talks we had on the way, and what we shared along the road are very special to me. I will always remember your sayings: “What’s delayed – doesn’t pass” and my favorite, “NO RISK – NO MEMORIES.” – Dmitri Gavrilov, Tour Guide and co-founder of MDT
Thank you, Eszter, for choosing to explore Moldova and Transnistria with us. We hope to see you again on your future adventures!
